A Pair of Northern European Cream-Painted Brackets
Mid-18th Century
redecorated, with traces of an earlier polychrome painted scheme; slight variations to carving.
Height 20 1/2 x width 15 3/4 inches.

Condition
As to be expected with a large set, there are variations to the carving which would not be apparent when installed. One carved from oak and the other from pine. Both with an earlier identical polychrome painted scheme. The later cream painted surface with some flaking and losses and areas of instability. The pine example with a 2 inch by 2 inches loss from the middle right-hand foliate support.
